Trung Vuong Secondary School has taken a progressive step in the world of education by establishing the Robocon Club in August 2024. This initiative is designed as a platform for grade 6 to 9 students to practically apply Mathematics, Informatics, and technology through the design and operation of robots, while also serving as a tangible implementation of the school's STEM education orientation.
Within the club, students are guided through a structured curriculum that covers robot structure, programming algorithms, and optimization techniques. The strength of this club lies in its inclusive approach, where students of various skill levels, from beginners to advanced, are encouraged to collaborate according to their specialties, such as mechanics, programming, or strategy development.
This creative process has proven effective in shaping students' character. They learn to persevere through failure, think logically, and work in teams to perfect their robots. As a result, various achievements have been recorded, including reaching the national top 8 at the 2026 ORC Robocon competition and winning the Best Robot Control award, which has further fueled students' enthusiasm for engineering.
For the students, the experience in this club is not just about assembling machines, but also about equipping them with crucial skills such as communication and complex problem-solving. Many students now envision engineering as their future career path after experiencing the satisfaction of turning their ideas into functional robotic products.
The school acknowledges that the club's development still faces challenges such as limited funding and supporting facilities.
