The development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology, video commerce, and social commerce is projected to be the main driving force of the digital marketing industry in the future. However, the adoption of this cutting-edge technology must be balanced with building consumer trust and improving the quality of human resources (HR) to create sustainable business growth.
This strategic issue emerged during the prestigious Marketing + Media Alliance (MMA) Marketing Talk Indonesia 2026 event held at the JW Marriott Hotel Jakarta. Under the theme "Lead with Innovation. Grow with Purpose.", this conference brought together dozens of industry leaders from various sectors to formulate adaptive strategies amidst the dynamic digital landscape.
CEO & Board of Directors of MMA APAC, Rohit Dadwal, emphasized that successful innovation must stem from a deep understanding of people's real needs. Technology, according to him, is not the ultimate goal but a means to deliver relevant solutions. The success of AI integration also heavily relies on business transparency and the company's ability to maintain public trust.
Furthermore, Rohit is optimistic about the future of Indonesia's digital economy, supported by a young population and high technology penetration. He predicts that video commerce and social commerce platforms will dominate the advertising sector in the coming years, not only in major cities but also reaching other regions through the digitalization of education and financial services.
Echoing this sentiment, Commissioner of PT Ilthabi Rekatama, Ilham Akbar Habibie, highlighted the importance of strengthening local talent capacity for Indonesia to compete globally. He emphasized the need for robust regulatory support and adaptive leadership. On the other hand, Ilham reminded the importance of building technological independence to reduce the risk of dependence on foreign AI platforms amidst global geopolitical uncertainties.
