The Bima City Administration has recently carried out a reshuffle of several structural and functional officials within its environment. One of the points that drew significant public attention was the inauguration of Badrah Ekowati, wife of the Mayor of Bima H.A. Rahman, to the position of Secretary of the Health Department.

Responding to various public reactions, Spokesperson for the Bima City Administration, Dr. Muhammad Hasyim, stressed that the appointment was made based on the merit system mechanism regulated by law. He ensured that official evaluations are based on individual competence, qualifications, track record, and integrity, rather than family ties.

Hasyim added that family relations should not be an obstacle for a State Civil Apparatus (ASN) member to receive a career promotion. According to him, every public servant has an equal right to advance their career as long as they meet the professionalism standards and requirements established by the government.

Furthermore, the Bima City Administration emphasized that the position is not a permanent one free from oversight. All newly inaugurated officials will undergo periodic performance evaluations. If the individual is deemed unable to meet the assigned work targets, the government is committed to re-evaluating the position, including the possibility of removal in accordance with applicable mechanisms.

In addition to that inauguration, this rotation also highlighted the shift of Syarifuddin, who previously served as Secretary of the Health Department and now occupies a new position as Head of Division at the Regional Research and Innovation Agency (BRIDA). As of the time of reporting, the Bima City Administration has not provided detailed information regarding the job grade comparison and the allowance impact of this rotational transfer.
