Layanan Kesehatan Cuma-Cuma (LKC) Dompet Dhuafa Aceh has officially launched the Disaster Recovery Program in Pangkalan Village, Kejuruan Muda Subdistrict, Aceh Tamiang Regency. This recovery step began with a socialization event on Saturday (25/7/2026) as a rapid response to the impact of Tropical Cyclone Senyar, which disrupted residents' access to healthcare.
Tropical Cyclone Senyar triggered hydrometeorological disasters that not only damaged physical infrastructure but also paralyzed basic health services. This condition put vulnerable groups—including pregnant women, infants, the elderly, and people with non-communicable diseases (NCDs)—in a precarious situation. Through assistance scheduled to run until December 2026, this program aims to restore health services while building community resilience.
This recovery program focuses on three main pillars: the establishment of Maternal and Child Health (KIA) Health Posts, NCD Health Posts, and the physical rehabilitation of Village Maternity Cottages (Polindes). The main focus includes monitoring toddler nutrition, screening for chronic diseases such as diabetes and hypertension, and repairing village maternity facilities damaged by the disaster.
LKC Dompet Dhuafa Aceh's Disaster Recovery Facilitator, Reza Angreini, explained that the program began with an in-depth assessment to map out health priority issues. Synergy among the village government, community health centers (Puskesmas), midwives, and local health volunteers is key to ensuring that every intervention is on target.
Regional Coordinator of LKC Dompet Dhuafa Aceh, Arfan Ramadhan, emphasized that the presence of facilitators in the field aims to act as a catalyst for mutual cooperation (gotong royong), rather than being the sole executors. The program, funded through Dompet Dhuafa's zakat management, is expected to trigger sustainable cross-sector collaboration for post-disaster village health independence.
