President Prabowo Subianto established a strategic agreement with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a bilateral meeting at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Tuesday (7/7). The intensive meeting resulted in cooperation commitments spanning various crucial sectors, ranging from regional security to the development of future technologies.
One of the main points in the memorandum of understanding between the two countries is the exploration of nuclear technology development to support national energy security. In addition to the nuclear sector, both state leaders agreed to synergize in the development of renewable energy-based power plant projects, including solar power, as a concrete step to face global energy challenges.
In the field of security, Indonesia and India reaffirmed their commitment to countering terrorism and transnational crime. This step will be realized through the strengthening of the Indonesia-India Security Dialogue, as well as collaboration in digital infrastructure development and building capacity in new technologies to maintain regional stability.
Furthermore, President Prabowo emphasized the importance of collaboration in the health sector as a pillar of human resource development. Indonesia hopes this partnership can open up wide avenues for knowledge exchange and capacity building for medical personnel, including doctors and nurses, through joint training programs between the two countries.
