Universitas Muhammadiyah Surabaya (Umsura) is expanding its footprint in the healthcare sector by officially launching the Pratama Inpatient Clinic on Wednesday (1/7/2026). This primary healthcare facility is designed to provide comprehensive medical services, not only for the internal campus community but also for residents living around the university area.
The clinic offers various essential healthcare services, ranging from general practitioner examinations, dental and oral specialties, to midwifery services focusing on maternal and child health (MCH). To respond to emergencies, the campus has also equipped the clinic with an Emergency Unit (UGD) operating with standards for fast and precise medical treatment.
The Rector of Umsura, Prof. Mundakir, emphasized that the establishment of this clinic is a tangible implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, particularly in the aspect of community service. Beyond being a medical service center, this facility is also designed as a learning and clinical practice venue for health students, which is expected to support educational quality while delivering a broad social impact.
To celebrate the inauguration, Umsura organized a community service event providing free health check-ups for 150 residents, dental check-ups for 50 participants, and prenatal care services for 50 pregnant women. This initiative received appreciation from various parties, including representatives of the Surabaya City Health Office who attended the launch event.
In terms of infrastructure, the Umsura Pratama Inpatient Clinic is equipped with capable supporting facilities. Ranging from an integrated administration system, inpatient rooms, pharmacy services, to lactation rooms and CCTV security systems, all facilities are guaranteed to meet professional and affordable primary healthcare standards for the community.
