The Bima Stadium Sports Area now officially holds strong legal validity after the Cirebon City Government secured a certificate of lawful ownership. This clarity of status is expected to become a golden momentum to optimize the management of regional assets, one of which is through the development of the sports tourism sector.
Chairman of Commission III of the Cirebon City DPRD, Yusuf, stated that this de jure status provides full flexibility for the local government in designing regional management without being hindered by administrative obstacles. He conveyed this after recently holding a working meeting with the Cirebon City Youth and Sports Office (Dispora).
Yusuf explained that land certification obstacles had previously often been a stumbling block when the government wished to cooperate with third parties. Now, with these administrative barriers resolved, the DPRD is urging Dispora to immediately draft an integrated and professional master plan (grand design) for the development of Bima Stadium.
This strategic step is considered crucial amid the Cirebon City Government's efforts to explore new sources of Regional Original Revenue (PAD). With a representative and aesthetic arrangement, Bima Stadium is projected to revitalize the local economic ecosystem, ranging from parking management to the empowerment of MSMEs in the culinary sector.
Beyond being just a source of revenue, the optimization of this area is also targeted to position Cirebon City as a host for various prestigious sports events at both regional and national levels. Adequate preparation of sports infrastructure will be a key attraction for large-scale activities in the future.
