The Gunung Putih Village field in Tanjung Palas District witnessed the start of a prestigious local football competition, the Gunung Putih Super League. The tournament was officially opened by the Regent of Bulungan, Syarwani, on Saturday (1/8) afternoon, marked by the participation of the regional leader in the opening match.
The competition, initiated by the Karang Taruna Karya Bersama youth group, is designed not only as a talent search for local football but also as a recreational space for the community. The presence of Regent Syarwani, who took to the pitch alongside local community figures, added to the excitement of the opening ceremony.
In his speech, Syarwani highly appreciated the organizing committee who worked hard to make this tournament happen. He emphasized the importance of maintaining sportsmanship and a peaceful atmosphere, both on and off the field throughout the competition.
The Regent also reminded all competing teams and supporters to prioritize the value of brotherhood above all. According to him, the main essence of this community sports competition is to strengthen community ties and foster a sense of togetherness among the residents of Bulungan.
