Joint forces from the Pekanbaru City Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP), Commission I of the DPRD, and members of the military and police (TNI-Polri) conducted unannounced inspections of various nightlife venues early Thursday morning (9/7/2026). This firm measure was taken as part of preventive oversight efforts to ensure that nightlife operations align with applicable regulations.
The joint team directly inspected several strategic locations, including Gen Z Club, Empire 80 Lounge and KTV, and HW Live House. The primary focus of this operation was checking administrative licensing completeness and ensuring that field operations do not violate public order norms and the comfort of the broader community.
Head of Pekanbaru City Satpol PP, Desheriyanto, emphasized that the local government does not prohibit entertainment activities, provided business owners can guarantee a conducive situation. He issued a stern warning to all management teams not to leave room for illegal practices, particularly drug abuse and trafficking within their business environments.
Echoing these sentiments, Chairman of Commission I of the Pekanbaru City DPRD, Robin Eduar, stated that this unannounced inspection serves as a warning signal for entrepreneurs not to ignore rules. According to him, management's compliance with the law is an absolute obligation to maintain city security.
This oversight activity, which was also attended by Commission I DPRD members such as Aidhil Nur Putra, Wan Agusti, and Syafri Syarif, is expected to serve as momentum for nightlife establishment managers to practice greater discipline. The Pekanbaru City Government is committed to continuing to monitor activities in the entertainment sector to create an orderly and safe environment for all citizens.
