PT Indosat Tbk (ISAT) recorded new dynamics in its customer base structure throughout the first quarter of 2026. Reports indicate a decrease in prepaid subscribers from 94 million to 92 million compared to the same period in the previous year. Meanwhile, the postpaid segment maintained stability, with subscribers reaching 2 million.

Despite the contraction in user numbers, capital market analysts view this condition as part of the company's strategy to refine its customer base. This move is seen as a selective effort by Indosat to focus on more profitable segments rather than merely chasing user quantity.

Managing Director of Research at Samuel Sekuritas Indonesia, Harry Su, emphasized that Indosat's performance outlook through the end of 2026 continues to show a positive trend. This optimism is supported by several fundamental factors, including consistent data consumption growth and an increase in Average Revenue Per User (ARPU).

Furthermore, strict operational efficiency and the monetization of strategic assets through the FiberCo entity are projected to serve as main catalysts for company growth. With a combination of precise business strategies, Indosat is expected to maintain its competitiveness amid increasingly fierce telecommunications industry competition.
