PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia (KAI Commuter) has officially launched an innovative step to improve the quality of public transportation services. The company is currently conducting trial installations of cutting-edge air purification technology called nanoe X on one of the Commuter Line trainsets.
This strategic move is part of the company's commitment to implementing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles, particularly in environmental conservation. This technology from Japan was selected to ensure air sterility inside the cabin is maintained for all passengers.
VP Corporate Secretary of KAI Commuter, Karina Amanda, explained that nanoe X works by inhibiting the growth of fungi, viruses, bacteria, and invisible microscopic dust particles. Beyond health aspects, this technology is also claimed to neutralize unpleasant odors that often cling to the train interior due to high passenger density.
In the initial phase, these devices are installed on JR205 series (SF12) KRL trainsets serving the Bogor route. Management is currently closely monitoring the device's operational effectiveness in the field before deciding to expand installation to other trainsets.
The main advantage of nanoe X technology lies in its maintenance-free self-releasing method. With optimal distribution coverage, this innovation is expected to provide a fresher and more hygienic travel experience for Commuter Line passengers, matching the comfort standards of modern public transportation in Japan.
