The Banjar Regency Government, through the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), responded quickly to complaints from residents of Gunung Batu Village, Sambung Makmur District, regarding the clean water crisis caused by the dry season. The distribution of assistance focused on the most severely affected areas, namely RT 1 and RT 5, where residents' water sources have shrunk significantly.

To ensure equitable water distribution, the Banjar Regency BPBD, together with the Emergency Response Task Force of the South Kalimantan BPBPK, implemented a water storage system using tanks. This strategy is considered more effective and orderly than direct distribution to individual homes, allowing the community to collect water according to their needs on an ongoing basis.

The Head of Gunung Batu Village, M. Albilaluddin, stated that this public water tank system facilitates supervision and ensures fairness for every affected family. He appreciated the prompt action of the Banjar Regency BPBD in responding to residents' requests amid the drought threat that disrupted daily activities.

In addition to supplying clean water needs, the joint team also conducted field mapping by inspecting three retention basins in the village. This step was taken to identify potential remaining water sources and to serve as an evaluation basis for developing long-term plans for building more resilient water infrastructure in the future.

The synergy between the village government, Banjar Regency BPBD, and South Kalimantan BPBPK is expected to serve as a strong foundation in comprehensively managing drought disasters. This inter-agency collaboration demonstrates the government's commitment to providing real solutions for the community so they can avoid difficulties in accessing clean water during the dry season.
