Jember, July 5, 2026 – The Jember Regency Government places the education sector as a vital instrument in breaking the cycle of poverty while preparing competitive human resources (HR). The Regent of Jember, Muhammad Fawait, emphasized that the most strategic regional development investment lies in improving the quality of education aligned with the demands of the digital transformation era.
According to Regent Fawait, the direction of educational policy in Jember will be aimed at integrating technology into the learning system. This step was taken so that students not only master theory but also have high adaptability, critical thinking, and creativity amidst rapid technological changes.
Furthermore, he emphasized the importance of a curriculum capable of generating new entrepreneurs through the development of the creative economy. Education is expected to be an incubation space for the younger generation to create employment opportunities independently, rather than just producing a ready-to-use workforce. Leadership and problem-solving skills are also key focuses that will be included in the regional curriculum development framework.
This commitment is reinforced by the evaluation results obtained by Regent Fawait during his participation in the 2026 Indonesian Education Conference. He stated that various innovative ideas from the forum would be adapted to strengthen educational policies in Jember, thereby fostering a younger generation that is more productive, independent, and capable of making a real contribution to local economic growth.
