The hosting of the 24th Jember Fashion Carnaval (JFC) is now seen as more than just an international-scale fashion show. The Regent of Jember, Muhammad Fawait, affectionately known as Gus Fawait, emphasized that this annual carnival plays a strategic role as a driving force for the local economy, particularly for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
Gus Fawait explained that in addition to being a space for social interaction for the community, the JFC opens up massive business opportunities. Due to the high enthusiasm of both domestic and foreign visitors, the circulation of money in the informal sector has increased sharply during the event.
In addition to the direct economic impact, this street fashion event also serves as a platform for nurturing the younger generation in the creative industry sector. Jember Regency, known for its long history of producing national figures in culture and politics, is now further strengthening its reputation through new talents in the carnival world.
The Jember Regency Government is also committed to ensuring that every publicly-funded activity has a tangible impact. Gus Fawait has instructed all Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) to make careful calculations before organizing events, so that every regional investment provides a direct economic return for the well-being of the residents.
