He revealed that clashing economic interests between countries have triggered a shift in the actors involved in competition, where humans are now starting to face the innovations they created themselves.
One concrete example of this phenomenon is the global energy transition. The urgent need for environmentally friendly fuels means that palm oil is no longer used solely for conventional consumption, but has transformed into a raw material for biodiesel. This phenomenon shows how machines and technology designed by humans are now also competing to utilize limited natural resources.
Furthermore, the presence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is seen as a game changer that brings a new dimension of risks and opportunities. Fabian explained that technology has developed rapidly through the stages of one-way information, two-way interaction, transactional capabilities, and finally reaching the stage of transformation that can fundamentally change the order of human life.
Facing this reality, the public and industry players need to understand that the utilization of AI is an inevitability. The key to responding to this development lies in human readiness to manage risks strategically, in order to minimize negative impacts while optimizing the value of technological transformation for the collective interest amidst increasingly tight competition.
