The Mayor of Tanjungpinang, H. Lis Darmansyah, S.H., officially launched the Dekranasda Fun & Run 2026 event during a ceremony at the Sultan Sulaiman Badrul Alamsyah Hall on Friday (3/7). This event represents a concrete synergy between a healthy lifestyle and creative economy development efforts in the region.
In his speech, Lis expressed high appreciation to the Tanjungpinang City Dekranasda for successfully combining sports, cultural arts, and tourism into a single series of activities. According to him, this innovation is not merely a running event for athletes and sports enthusiasts, but a strategic instrument to promote local products and drive the MSME sector's economy.
"This is a comprehensive form of innovation. We want to make Tanjungpinang a city that is not only healthy, but also creative and welcoming to tourists. Through the running community, we hope the promotional reach of this region spreads widely to various areas, so that visitors' arrival brings a direct economic impact to hospitality, transportation, and small business owners," Lis explained.
Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the Tanjungpinang City Dekranasda, Hj. Yuniarni Pustoko Weni, S.H., explained that the peak of the Dekranasda Fun & Run event is scheduled for August 9, 2026, in the Gedung Gonggong area, Tepi Laut. Targeting 1,000 participants for the 5K and 10K categories, the event will also feature an MSME bazaar, educational competitions for children, and local art performances.
Weni hopes this cross-sectoral synergy can turn the event into an annual agenda eagerly anticipated by the public. The launch was marked by the opening of an online registration portal, which is expected to accelerate public participation access while optimizing Tanjungpinang City's creative economy potential.
