Bina Sarana Informatika University (UBSI) Pemuda Campus recently held a workshop titled "Utilization of AI for Media and SMK Learning Quality" at SMK Barunawati, North Jakarta. This program was specifically designed to equip educators with technical skills in utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) technology to enrich classroom learning materials.
Present as the main speaker, AI Implementer and Partner of DICO, Ricky Sastra, outlined various AI potentials in facilitating administrative and creative tasks for teachers. One of the introduced innovations was Google's NotebookLM, an AI-based research assistant capable of summarizing materials and processing data from various sources more efficiently for both teachers and students.
In his presentation, Ricky emphasized that the presence of AI is not a threat to the position of teachers, but rather a supporting instrument to enhance teacher efficiency and creativity. He reminded participants about the importance of digital ethics, so that technology utilization remains under human control and does not eliminate the essence of teachers as the primary facilitators of education.
Head of UBSI Pemuda Campus, Setiaji, stated that this initiative is part of UBSI's ongoing commitment to driving digital transformation in secondary education institutions. Through this forum, teachers were given a space for discussion to exchange experiences regarding the challenges of implementing technology in their respective school environments.
It is hoped that this workshop will serve as a stepping stone for vocational educators to create learning methods that are more adaptive, interactive, and relevant to modern industry needs. With the right mastery of AI, the quality of education at the vocational level is believed to experience significant improvement alongside digital technological advancements.
