The GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026 became the stage for PT Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM) to reaffirm the future direction of their mobility in the country. Through this prestigious automotive exhibition, the Japanese automotive giant introduced a lineup of its latest vehicles that combine off-road toughness with environmentally friendly technology, strengthening their commitment to the electrification era.
President Director of PT Toyota-Astra Motor, Takuya Yokohama, emphasized that modern mobility needs have shifted. Consumers are now looking for vehicles that are not only reliable for daily transportation, but also tough enough to face various road challenges. To answer this challenge, Toyota presents the latest generation of the Toyota Hilux, which offers excellent stability and enhanced reliability.
One of the main stars of this exhibition is the launch of the New Land Cruiser 300 Hybrid EV. This legendary premium SUV is now equipped with a Parallel Hybrid system that combines a 3,500 cc twin-turbo V6 petrol engine with a high-performance electric motor. This collaboration produces a combined output of 341 kW and a peak torque of 790 Nm, making it the most powerful Land Cruiser variant ever marketed in Indonesia.
Toughness in extreme terrain driving is supported by a 10-speed automatic transmission and Auto Multi Terrain Select technology, which intelligently detects road surface types to optimize traction. The presence of this hybrid variant marks an important evolution for a model that has accompanied the Indonesian public for more than six decades.
In addition to the premium hybrid variant, Toyota also presented a surprise through a special preview session of the Land Cruiser FJ. Carrying a classic design concept inspired by its first generation, this compact SUV with the "Freedom and Joy" logo is equipped with a 2,700 cc 4-cylinder engine and a part-time 4WD drivetrain system with a Rear Differential Lock, making it an attractive choice for adventurers desiring a more compact dimension.
Toyota's electrification commitment also extends to the pure electric vehicle segment through the New bZ4X Touring Battery EV. This estate SUV-style car is equipped with a 74.69 kWh capacity battery and an all-wheel drive (AWD) system capable of delivering up to 280 kW of power. With a range of up to 487 kilometers on a single full charge, this vehicle also supports 150 kW DC fast charging which only takes about 28 minutes.
With the introduction of these new models, Toyota's electrification vehicle portfolio in Indonesia now includes 29 models spread across various market segments. This step reflects Toyota's real effort in presenting diverse, safe, and sustainable mobility options for all levels of consumers in the country.
