Police officers from the Kuta Sector tightened security at several vital points in tourist areas and nightlife centers through an operation codenamed "Blue Light Patrol". This preventive measure was carried out to anticipate the widespread potential for disturbances to public security and order (kamtibmas), such as street crime and illegal racing, which often disturb local residents and tourists.
The operation, which took place on Friday night (31/7/2026), was led directly by the Supervising Officer (Pawas) IPTU I Ketut Ngurah Sukarja, S.H. The focus of the sweep included areas prone to conventional crimes (theft with force, theft with violence, and motor vehicle theft) as well as main roads such as Sunset Road to Bypass Kedonganan, which are often used as illegal racing arenas by youth groups in the early hours of the morning.
Not only monitoring the highways, officers also took a persuasive approach through dialogic patrols in densely populated residential areas, banking areas, shopping centers, and nightclubs. Local residents and tourists alike were urged to always be vigilant in guarding their belongings and to immediately coordinate with the authorities if they encounter suspicious activity.
Head of Public Relations of Denpasar Police, Iptu I Gede Adi Saputra Jaya, S.H., M.H., emphasized that this routine patrol is a representation of the state's presence in providing a sense of security in premium tourist destinations like Kuta. His party is committed to suppressing the circulation of alcohol, illegal possession of sharp weapons, and the use of noisy exhausts that disturb public peace.
Until Saturday morning, the situation in the entire jurisdiction of the Kuta Police was reported to be conducive with no reports of prominent incidents or illegal racing. This intensive monitoring is guaranteed to continue periodically in order to maintain Bali's tourism image as safe and comfortable.
