The evolution of the financial sector in Indonesia is currently moving towards massive digitalization, ranging from payment systems and banking to financial technology (fintech) innovations. This phenomenon not only transforms public transaction patterns to be more efficient and practical, but also creates a new urgency for the availability of a workforce with strong technological literacy and deep business understanding.
Data from the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and Bank Indonesia show a positive growth trend in the national digital economic ecosystem. Along with high internet penetration and mobile device usage, financial companies are demanded to constantly innovate. However, the main challenge currently faced by the industry is the availability of human resources capable of integrating technical competence with the dynamics of the financial market.
Addressing these challenges, educational institutions such as Cyber University have begun adopting practice-based curricula, one of which is through the CLP 3+1 program that allows students to undergo a full-year internship. This approach is designed to bridge the gap between academic theory and the needs of the real working world, ensuring graduates not only excel theoretically but also possess practical experience.
Industry needs have now shifted towards specific professions such as data analysts, fintech product managers, and digital banking specialists. These new professions demand a strong interdisciplinary understanding. Therefore, synergy between the academic world and the industrial sector becomes a vital key in shaping a competitive young generation ready to drive the digital economy of the future.
