Singhasari Special Economic Zone (SEZ), Malang, marked a new milestone in the development of the educational ecosystem by partnering with the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB). This strategic collaboration was formalized through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by PT Intelegensia Grahatama as the zone manager and IIMB in Jakarta on Monday (6/7/2026).

IIM Bangalore, widely recognized as the top-ranked business education institution in India, plans to introduce programs specifically designed for mid-to-senior-level leaders. The educational focus will cover cutting-edge topics such as digital transformation, artificial intelligence, global supply chains, and the healthcare sector, utilizing a real-world case-based pedagogical approach.

CEO of PT Intelegensia Grahatama, David Santoso, stated that this initiative represents a concrete step toward strengthening bilateral relations between Indonesia and India while serving as a breakthrough in South-South cooperation. The inaugural program is scheduled to launch in January 2027 in the format of an International General Management Program before eventually expanding into formal degree programs.

Secretary of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Susiwijono Moegiarso, welcomed this partnership positively. He emphasized that Singhasari SEZ is now transforming into an innovation hub integrating investment, technology, and human talent development. The presence of IIMB is viewed as an ideal partner to hone the capabilities of Indonesian innovators and entrepreneurs to achieve global competitiveness.

This collaborative step is also part of a series of events during the state visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Indonesia in early July 2026. This synergy is expected to strengthen Singhasari SEZ's position as a main hub for the digital economy and international-standard education in Indonesia.
