The Blitar City Government continues to demonstrate its commitment to developing martial arts sports achievements. This step is proven by the readiness of three Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) athletes from Blitar City to strengthen the East Java contingent in the 2026 National Martial Arts Games (PON Beladiri) to be held in Manado this coming October. Not only that, the region nicknamed the Land of Bung Karno has also been officially designated as the host for the Indonesia Beladiri Camp Association (IBCA) MMA East Java Circuit 3 in September 2026.
This full support was reaffirmed by the Mayor of Blitar, H. Syauqul Muhibbin (Mas Ibin), during an audience with the management of IBCA MMA Blitar City in his office on Tuesday (28/7/2026). The meeting, which was also attended by the Acting Head of the Blitar City Youth and Sports Department (Dispora), Heru Eko Pramono, became a momentum for the local government to appreciate the consistent achievements of local athletes who frequently dominate regional and national championship stages.
The Chairman of IBCA MMA Blitar City, Agik Yulianto, revealed the names of the three athletes who passed the selection to represent East Java, namely Denok Tri Wahyuni, Vince Anggi Fadila, and Vincent Aria Pradana. The success of these three has brought a broader positive impact, where Blitar City is trusted as the regional training center (Puslatda) for the East Java MMA contingent before departing for Manado.
In addition to the athletes' achievements, the designation of Blitar City as the host of the IBCA MMA East Java Circuit 3 is a source of pride in itself. The Achievement Development Officer of IBCA MMA East Java, Hawin Fahmi, explained that the selection of Blitar City was based on its strategic location and excellent track record in athlete training. This series of events will not only present competitions but will also be combined with a provincial working meeting and training for nationally licensed coaches.
Responding to this major agenda, the Mayor of Blitar stated that his administration is making various technical preparations, including surveying representative locations so that the event can run optimally. Mas Ibin hopes this momentum can spur the spirit of local athletes to continue carving out the best achievements to bring honor to the region on the national stage.
