Starting a business in the livestock sector requires extra perseverance and patience, a principle proven by Mr. Trieu Thoi in building his buffalo farming business. In 2025, with an initial capital of 350 million VND, he took a bold step by building barn facilities and purchasing nine buffaloes as the main foundation for expanding his herd.
Mr. Thoi's success strategy lies in operational efficiency through integrated farming. He manages 27 hectares of land to cultivate rice and elephant grass as the primary feed source. By utilizing post-harvest straw waste as supplemental feed, he has significantly cut operational costs while ensuring a consistent supply of nutrients for his livestock.
The results of this dedication are clear. Today, his herd has grown to 12 buffaloes. Recently, he recorded a profit of 61 million VND from selling two buffaloes, reinvesting all the proceeds to expand his business scale.
In the eyes of local residents and officials, this business model is seen as an inspiration for other farmers. Mr. Au Toan Hao, Vice Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Vinh Loi Commune, highlighted the importance of Mr. Thoi's proactive approach to utilizing local potential. Currently, the local government has even designated Mr. Thoi's farm as a comparative study site for residents wishing to learn how to manage livestock farming independently and sustainably.
