Students of the Field Learning Practice (PBL) I from the Faculty of Public Health (FKM) at Hasanuddin University (Unhas) officially began their community service program in Baula Sub-district, Tellu Limpoe District, Sidenreng Rappang Regency, on Monday (6/7). The activity started with a seminar to present the strategic plan for health data collection in the area.
The PBL Village Coordinator, Muthmainnah R, explained that the main focus of this agenda is to conduct in-depth observations, data collection, and a comprehensive analysis of the health situation. The students target visiting 150 households in Baula Sub-district to obtain an accurate picture of public health to determine the priorities for addressing health issues in the future.
The seminar also served as a coordination forum to align the goals between the students and stakeholders, including the sub-district government and the community health center (Puskesmas). Muthmainnah emphasized that the success of this program heavily depends on the synergy built between the academic side and the residents during the data collection process in the field.
Responding to the activity, the Head of Baula Sub-district, Junaidi, expressed his full support. He emphasized the fundamental difference between PBL and general KKN (student community service) programs, which lies in the specific analysis orientation related to public health issues. Junaidi urged all levels of society to be cooperative during the data collection process.
It is hoped that the collaboration established in this PBL I program can generate strategic recommendations to sustainably improve the health status of Baula Sub-district residents.
