MEDAN – The momentum of National Children's Day was utilized by Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri (MTsN) 2 Medan to ensure the physical health of its students. In collaboration with the Sering Community Health Center (UPT Puskesmas Sering), the madrasah organized free health check-ups targeting 367 seventh-grade students on Thursday (23/7).

The activity, centered in the School Health Unit (UKS), included a series of comprehensive physical examinations. Medical officers conducted height and weight measurements, dental health check-ups, as well as general medical evaluations. Specifically, Hemoglobin (Hb) level tests were also administered to female students as an early detection measure against the risk of anemia, which often affects teenage girls.

This medical examination was led directly by the Head of UPT Puskesmas Sering, dr. Fitriah Nurdin, M.Biomed., along with a medical team consisting of dentists, nurses, pharmacists, and midwives. The synergy between health workers and the school ran orderly and systematically to ensure the comfort of all students during the examination process.

The Principal of MTsN 2 Medan, Dra. Pesta Berampu, MA, appreciated this cross-sector collaboration. According to her, physical health is a crucial foundation for children's academic success at school. Through this early screening, the school hopes to formulate appropriate preventive measures to promote healthy living habits among students.

This concrete action is proof of a shared commitment to fulfilling children's basic rights, especially in the health sector. The organizers hope that similar activities can run sustainably to support the creation of a smart, strong, and character-driven young generation within the madrasah environment.
