BANDAR LAMPUNG — The Lampung Branch of the Indonesian Association of Internal Medicine Specialists (PAPDI) held a solidarity action to commemorate World Hepatitis Day 2026. Under the theme "Know Hepatitis, Protect Your Liver, Achieve a Healthy Lampung Community", this educational activity was held in the Car Free Day (CFD) area on Jalan Radin Intan, Bandar Lampung City, on Sunday (July 26, 2026).

The Chairman of PAPDI Lampung Branch, dr. Agung Budi Prasetyo, Sp.PD, FINASIM, M.Kes, explained that the momentum of World Hepatitis Day is crucial for raising public awareness. According to him, understanding liver disease prevention through clean and healthy living behaviors (PHBS) and early detection still needs to be continuously and massively socialized.

Hepatitis is an inflammatory condition of the liver triggered by viral infections or other factors. Since it often does not present clinical symptoms in the early stages, treatment for this disease is frequently delayed. Therefore, dr. Agung emphasized that vaccination, maintaining personal hygiene, avoiding high-risk behaviors, and undergoing regular health screenings are the primary preventive measures to avoid serious complications.

In this social action, the public crowding the CFD area did not only receive theoretical information. PAPDI Lampung also provided various free health services, ranging from healthy lifestyle counseling, direct medical consultations with specialists, to free blood pressure and blood sugar checks.

The event concluded with an interactive talk show hosted by dr. Krisna, Sp.PD. Public enthusiasm was high during the Q&A session regarding hepatitis transmission and prevention. In addition to educating the public, this routine agenda in public spaces is also expected to strengthen relationships among PAPDI Lampung members while serving as a tangible contribution from the medical profession to improve the health standards of the Lampung community.
