To celebrate the 242nd Anniversary of Pekanbaru City and the 54th PKK Movement Unity Day (HKG PKK), the Pekanbaru City Government, through the Health Office, successfully held Free Health Check (CKG) services on Wednesday (July 1, 2026). A total of 180 residents enthusiastically took advantage of the health check facilities spread across five strategic locations.
These health services were carried out simultaneously in several public facilities, namely UPT Puskesmas Pekanbaru Kota, UPT Puskesmas Sidomulyo Rawat Inap, UPT Puskesmas Simpang Tiga, UPT Puskesmas Rejosari, and the Lembah Sari Sub-district Head Office Hall. The activity emphasized promotive and preventive aspects to support early detection of various potential disease risks in the community.
Head of the Pekanbaru City Health Office, Hazli Fendriyanto, emphasized that this initiative represents a tangible effort by the government to provide easy access to quality health services. According to him, the momentum of the city's anniversary should not merely be a ceremonial celebration, but must be realized through programs that offer direct benefits to the community.
The success of this program was inseparable from the spirit of cross-sectoral collaboration. In addition to community health centers (puskesmas), the event was supported by several health partners such as Hermina Hospital, Andini Hospital, Bina Kasih Hospital, Madani Regional Hospital, and Misbah Clinic. This synergy is expected to become a new standard in strengthening inclusive and easily accessible basic health services for Pekanbaru residents.
The Pekanbaru City Government hopes that through these routine check-ups, public awareness regarding healthy lifestyles will continue to rise. Moving forward, the spirit of mutual cooperation (gotong royong) between the government and the private health sector will continue to be nurtured to ensure a better and healthier quality of life for the community.
