South Korean President Lee Jae Myung has officially launched the San Francisco AI Declaration during his visit to the United States. This strategic move was taken to strengthen South Korea's position on the global technology stage through close collaboration with global tech giants.
The declaration was announced on the sidelines of the San Francisco AI Summit on July 24, 2026, local time. In the prestigious forum, President Lee held intensive discussions and took photos with several leaders of prominent South Korean companies and Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of various global technology corporations.
The following day, on July 25, 2026, the presidential agenda continued with the Silicon Valley Venture Investment Meetup. In front of representatives of global venture capital firms, President Lee specifically discussed new investment opportunities and partnership schemes to accelerate the domestic artificial intelligence (AI) industry.
This visit to San Francisco marks the beginning of President Lee's series of overseas working visits, which cover the United States, Latin America, and Germany. In addition to focusing on the artificial intelligence sector, he is also scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with world leaders—including those from the US, Norway, Ukraine, and Romania—to strengthen diplomatic relations and multilateral cooperation.
