The Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) area in Senayan, Jakarta, was packed with thousands of running enthusiasts on Sunday morning (26/7/2026). The General Chair of the National Awakening Party (PKB), Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar, officially flagged off 7,500 participants in the PKB Run 2026. This mass running event was held as part of the series of celebrations for the party's 28th Anniversary (Harlah).
This annual sporting event divided the competition into two distance categories, namely 5 kilometers (5K) and 10 kilometers (10K). Joined by various elements of society, PKB Run 2026 was designed not merely as a physical competition, but also as a platform to strengthen togetherness and campaign for the importance of a healthy lifestyle among urban communities.
In his opening speech, the figure familiarly known as Gus Muhaimin expressed deep appreciation to the autonomous body Garda Bangsa and all parties who made the event a success. He expressed his joy at the high level of public enthusiasm, reflected in the massive turnout of participants since early morning.
The man leading PKB also emphasized the importance of decentralizing similar activities. In the future, he aims for the PKB Run event to not only be concentrated in the capital or provincial level, but also to reach all districts in Indonesia to build sports awareness evenly down to the grassroots.
In addition to carrying a health mission, the momentum of PKB's 28th Anniversary this time carries the grand theme "New Direction of Constitutional Economy". Through this theme, the party is committed to guarding national economic policies so they are more biased towards the welfare of the common people, while asking for broad public support so that PKB consistently carries out the mandate of building a just and prosperous nation.
