Officers of the Ngawi Resort Police (Polres) successfully thwarted the distribution of hundreds of illegal dangerous hard drug pills targeting teenagers in the local jurisdiction. In an operation launched on Saturday (1/8/2026), officers arrested two youths with the initials SAFP (20) and RR (21) who are strongly suspected of acting as dealers.
From the two suspects, the police confiscated evidence of 905 "pil koplo" (illegal sedative pills) ready for distribution. The types of hard drugs secured were quite diverse, ranging from Trihexyphenidyl, unbranded pills, to pills with Y and LL logos. In addition, officers also secured Rp970,000 in cash, suspected to be the proceeds of transactions, as well as two smartphones used as communication tools for the illicit business.
Head of the Narcotics Investigation Unit of Ngawi Police, Police Commissioner Assistant (AKP) M. Luthfi, representing the Chief of Ngawi Police, Police Grand Commissioner Adjutant (AKBP) Prayoga Angga Widyatama, emphasized that the police will not tolerate the distribution of unauthorized hard drugs. This illegal action is deemed extremely dangerous to public safety, especially for the younger generation who are the primary targets of the distribution.
As a result of their actions, SAFP and RR are now detained in cells. Both are charged under Article 435 or Article 436 paragraph (2) of Law Number 17 of 2023 concerning Health juncto Article 20 letter c of the Criminal Code (KUHP). The police are currently still developing the case to hunt down the major drug lord and break the supply chain network of the illicit drugs.
