The Bojonegoro Regency Sports Week (PORKAB) II event officially ended solemnly. The closing ceremony was conducted directly by the Regent of Bojonegoro, Setyo Wahono, accompanied by Vice Regent Nurul Azizah at the Malowopati Pavilion on Friday evening (10/07/2026). The event was also attended by the Regional Secretary, the Forkopimda leadership, and the local KONI Chairman.

The event, which had been running since June 27, 2026, involved 3,535 athletes from all sub-districts in Bojonegoro competing across 27 sports disciplines, including a new category, MMA. Head of the Bojonegoro Youth and Sports Department, Arif Nanang, expressed his pride in this unique regional initiative that scouts district-based athletes, a scheme rarely implemented in other regions of East Java.

Regent Setyo Wahono expressed deep appreciation to all parties involved, from coaches and officials to village and district governments. According to him, PORKAB is not merely a medal hunt, but a crucial vehicle for building character, discipline, and strengthening brotherhood among citizens.

Beyond achievement aspects, Vice Regent Nurul Azizah emphasized the close link between sports and local government efforts to reduce stunting rates. Through measured physical activity, it is hoped that Bojonegoro's young generation can grow with optimal physical and mental conditions for a better future.

In this year's competition, Kota District emerged as the overall champion after securing a total of 208 points, consisting of 35 gold, 22 silver, and 24 bronze medals. Second place was secured by Dander District, followed by Trucuk District in third place. The Bojonegoro Regency Government is committed to continuously improving the quality of future events to produce athletes capable of competing at national and international levels.
