The Probolinggo City Government has once again brought back its flagship tourism agenda, "A Week in Probolinggo" (Semipro) 2026. Centered at Bayuangga Stadium, the event is scheduled to run for ten full days, coinciding with the long school holiday to provide recreation options for local residents so they do not need to travel out of town.
Mayor of Probolinggo, dr. Aminuddin, officially opened the event series on Friday (3/7/2026) evening. In this year's staging, the government targets economic turnover through MSME transactions to reach at least IDR 500 million. Hundreds of business operators have been involved, offering flagship products ranging from batik and paintings to various local culinary specialties.
Recognized as one of the largest regional events in Indonesia according to BPS (Statistics Indonesia) data, the event packages ten main programs combining cultural acculturation. Visitors can enjoy art performances from Javanese, Madurese, and Arab traditions, representing the diversity of Probolinggo City's society. In addition to art stages, the committee also provides children's rides and an integrated culinary center at one location.
Public enthusiasm has been very high since the opening night, which was enlivened by a performance by national singer Tyo Satrio. Local residents believe that the variety of culinary stalls and entertainment offered at Semipro 2026 is a major attraction for families. The government hopes this event can serve as a driver for the popular economy while strengthening Probolinggo City's tourism image at the national level.
