Students of the Collaborative Thematic Student Community Service (KKN-TK) Group 19 of Bojonegoro University (Unigoro) synergized with the Turi Village Maternity Cottage (Polindes) to organize health screening and immunization assistance for students of SDN Turi 1. The activity, which took place in Turi Village, Tambakrejo District, Bojonegoro Regency, aims to monitor children's growth and development from an early age.
This basic health screening includes periodic measurements of height and weight, as well as checking the external physical condition of the students. This preventive step was carried out to identify potential health problems early on that could interfere with learning concentration and the growth and development of elementary school-aged children.
During the execution, midwives and healthcare workers from Polindes acted as medical examiners, while KKN students managed the workflow of the activity. This ranged from registration, recording basic medical histories, to providing interactive education on clean and healthy living behaviors (PHBS) to the students so they would not feel afraid during the examination.
The coordinator of KKN-TK Group 19 Unigoro explained that this assistance program is a concrete manifestation of student dedication in the public health sector. The data from the medical screening will later be submitted to the school and parents so that prompt action can be taken if any health issues are detected in the children.
This initiative received a warm welcome and appreciation from the Turi Village Polindes. It is hoped that multi-sector collaboration between educational institutions, village health facilities, and academics will continue to foster a healthier, smarter, and more resilient future generation in Bojonegoro.
