Their success in breaking into the top of the Italian standings in a short time has prompted management to accelerate moves in the transfer market to build a competitive team at the European level.
Como Sporting Director Carlalberto Ludi revealed that the club is in intensive negotiations to sign talented young midfielder Mattia Liberali from Catanzaro. A deal worth 6 million euros is said to be completed soon, with the player preferring the project led by Cesc Fàbregas over a higher salary offer from AC Milan.
The defensive line is also a main focus of the team's revamp. Como is reported to be preparing a 35 million euro offer to bring in tough Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah. Despite having an earlier proposal rejected, Como management remains optimistic about securing the English player's signature in the near future.
On the other hand, Como has secured the long-term commitment of creative midfielder Nico Paz. The player, previously on loan from Real Madrid, was officially bought permanently for a transfer fee reaching 60 million euros. Although Real Madrid included a buy-back clause, this move demonstrates Como's seriousness in retaining their valuable assets.
