The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) showed an impressive performance at the start of trading on Monday, July 6, 2026. The index opened at the 5,893 level and continued to record gains, reaching the 5,930 position, up 0.94 percent at 09:07 WIB.
Market activity in this early session was quite busy, with transaction volume reaching 2.07 billion shares. The recorded transaction value reached IDR 989.83 billion with a total trading frequency of 153,790 times. A total of 378 stocks managed to record gains, while 139 other stocks weakened and 442 stocks remained flat.
Responding to this positive trend, the Phintraco Sekuritas research team projects that the JCI has room to test the psychological area between 5,900 and 6,000. Technical analysis shows the formation of a Golden Cross pattern on the MACD and Stochastic RSI indicators, which signals optimism for market participants amid the index's movement above MA5 and MA10.
On the other hand, a more conservative view came from MNC Sekuritas analysts. Using the Elliott Wave approach, they warned that the current strengthening is still overshadowed by the risk of correction. Given that the weekly chart still shows selling pressure of 0.35 percent, the index is not considered to be completely in a safe position and has the potential to retest support levels in the range of 5,472 to 5,540.
