The Central National Sports Committee of Indonesia (KONI) is actively promoting the application of sport intelligence methods as a vital instrument in boosting athlete performance and competitiveness on both national and international stages. This data-driven approach is believed to provide coaches and athletes with a comprehensive overview to map opponents' strengths in greater depth.
General Chairman of Central KONI, Marciano Norman, explained that strengthening sports literacy through data was the main focus of the 'Sport Intelligence' book review agenda organized in collaboration with Surabaya State University (Unesa) on Tuesday (7/7/2026). This synergy aims to equip stakeholders, from sports federation leaders to athletes, with solid academic understanding.
Furthermore, Marciano emphasized that analyzing the opponents' strength landscape is no longer sufficient by relying solely on intuition or field observation. By integrating science and systematic analysis, it is hoped that match preparation can be conducted with more precise and measurable strategies.
This collaborative step reflects Central KONI's commitment to modernizing sports development patterns in the country. By utilizing research and science, sports practitioners are expected to adapt to global tactical developments while maintaining a competitive edge in every competition they enter.
