The Gorontalo Provincial Government, through the Department of Social Affairs, Population, and Civil Registration (Dinsosdukcapil), continues to expand the scope of social protection and services for the elderly. This comprehensive step is realized through a Vocational Guidance program combined with health screening and free treatment at the Griya Lansia Jannati nursing home in Gorontalo City, on Thursday (9/7/2026).

The integrated agenda was organized to hone the practical skills of the nursing home residents while ensuring their physical condition is maintained through regular medical monitoring. This approach is expected to improve the quality of life and vitality of the senior citizens in the region.

The Head of the Social Rehabilitation Division of the Gorontalo Provincial Dinsosdukcapil, Sujono Said Antule, emphasized that this skills training is an important part of the social rehabilitation process. The program is designed so that the elderly still have space to be creative, empowered physically and mentally, and live their old age with dignity.

The local government's commitment focuses not only on vocational training but also encompasses daily medical needs. Health-wise, the Gorontalo Provincial Health and P2KB Department deployed a special team to provide education on clean and healthy lifestyles, the importance of light physical activity, and strengthening the spiritual well-being of the elderly.

The Head of the Takelmas Work Team of the Gorontalo Provincial Health and P2KB Department, Helen Kadir, stated that in addition to providing motivation, her team conducted strict health screenings. This initial step is crucial for early identification of potential chronic diseases, managing health complications, and distributing necessary medicines free of charge to all nursing home residents.
