The Simalungun Regency Government held a series of activities to commemorate the 30th National Elderly Day, centered in the courtyard of the Regent's Office, Pamatang Raya, on Wednesday (8/7). Carrying the theme "Healthy and Independent Elderly, For an Empowered Indonesia," the event was attended by hundreds of elderly representatives from 46 Puskesmas across Simalungun.

Various health and social programs were prepared to pamper the elderly, ranging from free health check-ups, joint gymnastics, to healthy lifestyle education. In addition, the committee organized various competitions such as an elderly march group vocal competition and digital health campaign video creation, which concluded with the distribution of basic food packages for senior citizens in need.

Regent of Simalungun, Dr. H. Anton Achmad Saragih, stated that this event is a concrete form of the government's commitment to providing protection and honor to the elderly. According to him, senior citizens still play an important role in development and must be supported to continue living with dignity and maintained productivity.

Furthermore, the Regent emphasized that his team continues to strive to create an elderly-friendly environment through cross-sector collaboration, including involving healthcare workers and the business sector. The event was also attended by the Chairperson of the Simalungun Regency TP PKK, Mrs. Hj. Darmawati Anton Achmad Saragih, Regional Secretary Mixnon Andreas Simamora, along with other regional officials.
