The President Director of BPJS Kesehatan, Prihati Pujowaskito, along with the board of directors, paid an official visit to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) office in Jakarta on Wednesday, July 8, 2026. This strategic meeting focused on strengthening the corruption prevention system in the management of national social security involving a massive amount of public funds.
KPK spokesperson, Budi Prasetyo, emphasized the urgency of this collaboration given that BPJS Kesehatan holds a large mandate in managing the budget for the livelihoods of 286 million JKN participants. Considering the massive amount of contribution funds, reaching IDR 190 trillion annually, transparent governance with integrity is an absolute, non-negotiable requirement.
During the meeting, the KPK placed special emphasis on anti-fraud management. Prihati Pujowaskito stated her agency's commitment to reducing deviations to the lowest point through a stricter supervision system. This effort is made to ensure that the collected funds are fully distributed to improve the quality of public healthcare services.
As a follow-up, BPJS Kesehatan and KPK agreed to extend the memorandum of understanding (MoU) which expired in March 2026. This collaboration will include conducting corruption risk assessments, intensive training for anti-corruption educators, developing corruption prevention guidelines, and strengthening the whistleblowing system across the entire BPJS Kesehatan ecosystem.
