The Jakarta Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN DKI Jakarta) has taken a strategic step in strengthening bilateral economic synergy by facilitating direct business meetings between Indonesian and Japanese business players in Tokyo. The business matching agenda, which took place on Thursday (30/7/2026), brought the Indonesian delegation together with the Tokyo Metropolitan Small and Medium Enterprise Support Center to open up real cooperation opportunities on the international stage.
In the forum, KADIN DKI Jakarta brought about 10 national entrepreneurs to network with 60 business players from Japan. The industrial sectors involved covered machinery manufacturing, information technology, food, distribution, chemicals, textiles, agriculture, and construction. The meeting was officially opened by the President and CEO of Tokyo SME Support Center, Tarao Mitsuchika, and attended by the Trade Attaché of the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo, Merry Astrid.
The General Chairperson of KADIN DKI Jakarta, Diana Dewi, emphasized that this working visit aims to generate concrete partnerships oriented toward real transactions, long-term investment, and technology transfer. According to her, this collaboration must go beyond a mere exchange of information to have a tangible economic impact on both countries.
Furthermore, Diana explained that Japan has advantages in terms of mastering cutting-edge technology and high industrial standards, while Indonesia offers a large market and abundant natural resources. The integration of strengths from both sides is believed to be able to create significant value-add for the global supply chain.
In addition, this activity is an important momentum for domestic micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to understand the characteristics of the Japanese market, which highly prioritizes consistency and product quality. KADIN DKI Jakarta is committed to continuing to encourage local business players to dare to increase production capacity and meet international certifications to compete in the global market.
A total of 70 business meeting sessions held in this agenda are expected not to just stop at the initial exploration stage. KADIN DKI Jakarta will monitor the follow-up communication so that it immediately transforms into concrete trade agreements and upgrades regional entrepreneurs to the world stage.
