Kota Jababeka is once again preparing to take center stage with the hosting of Sakura Matsuri 2026. This international cultural festival is scheduled to take place on July 25-26, 2026, at Hollywood Junction, Cikarang, through a strategic collaboration between PT Jababeka Tbk and the Japan Alumni Community in Indonesia (KAJI).
This annual event is designed as a manifestation of Jababeka's vision to create an inclusive, self-sustaining urban ecosystem. More than just entertainment, Sakura Matsuri serves as a bridge for interaction for tens of thousands of visitors—ranging from professionals, expatriates, and students to families—strengthening international connections while boosting the local economy.
Director of PT Graha Buana Cikarang, Ivonne Anggraini, emphasized that diversity is a fundamental asset in building a city's competitiveness in the global era. The prominent presence of the Japanese community in the Jababeka industrial area is a crucial element that enriches the social and professional dynamics of the region.
This year's event program is packaged more comprehensively, featuring a music stage with JKT48 and various musicians from Japan, a culinary bazaar representing both countries, and the Miss Sakura competition offering cultural exchange opportunities to Japan. In addition, language and cultural education are facilitated through the Japan Indonesia Culture Corner (JICC), alongside Japanese language learning scholarship offers for visitors.
Full support also comes from the local government through the Bekasi Regency Tourism Office. The event is recognized for successfully delivering a positive impact on MSMEs and the tourism sector in Bekasi Regency, while enhancing the area's image as a unique industrial tourism destination capable of competing internationally.
To ensure visitor convenience from various regions such as Jakarta and Karawang, access to the venue has been integrated with public transportation modes, including the KRL Commuter Line and Transjabodetabek services. Through Sakura Matsuri 2026, Jababeka further reinforces its role as an integrated area combining investment, human resource development, and cultural appreciation.
