The Lumajang Regency Government continues to demonstrate its commitment to bureaucratic transformation through the Semeru Corpu program. This initiative is designed as a strategic learning space for the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) to hone their competencies and build an adaptive and innovative work culture in regional governance.
During the Semeru Corpu Series 6 event held at the Nararya Kirana Room, Lumajang Regent's Office, on Friday (3/7/2026), participants consisting of regional apparatus staff delved into the urgency of regional autonomy and the importance of building an innovative region. This discussion served as a crucial forum to map out increasingly dynamic public service challenges amid rising public expectations.
The Regent of Lumajang, Indah Amperawati, emphasized that the quality of excellent public services depends heavily on the integrity and learning spirit of the apparatus. According to her, civil servants must not stay in their comfort zones; instead, they must be able to adapt to changing times and remain oriented toward ease of access and the real needs of Lumajang residents.
To enrich the participants' insights, the event featured Siti Zuhro, Principal Researcher at the Political Research Center of the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN). She highlighted that a culture of innovation is an absolute foundation for any region to achieve sustainable development with a broad impact on public welfare.
Through continuous competency development, the Lumajang Regency Government is optimistic that its bureaucracy will be better prepared to carry out duties professionally, effectively, and accountably. This effort represents a concrete step toward creating governance that is responsive to future development dynamics.
