The 2026 Bojonegoro Regency Sports Week (Porkab) II event has officially concluded. The closing ceremony of this grand sporting event took place solemnly at Pendopo Malowopati on Friday (10/7/2026), marking the completion of the competition series that has been running from June 27 to July 10, 2026.
This year's sports event involved 3,535 athletes from 28 subdistricts competing in 27 sports disciplines. In addition to being a competition, Porkab II serves as a strategic instrument for the Bojonegoro Regency Government in identifying promising talents to be prepared for higher levels of achievement, both regionally and nationally.
The Regent of Bojonegoro, Setyo Wahono, in his speech, emphasized that the success of this event reflects the region's strong commitment to advancing the world of sports. He reminded the athletes that the primary value of any competition is not merely winning medals, but instilling discipline, sportsmanship, and integrity within the younger generation.
"Sports are a means of shaping a healthy and resilient generation. We continue to encourage athlete development to go hand in hand with improving human resources quality, including handling stunting, in order to produce physically and mentally superior generations," said Setyo Wahono.
On that occasion, Bojonegoro Subdistrict was crowned the overall champion. The Regent symbolically handed over the rotating trophy to the Head of Bojonegoro Subdistrict, David Prasetyo, as a token of appreciation for this achievement.
Meanwhile, the Bojonegoro Youth and Sports Department (Dinpora) introduced an inclusive, subdistrict-based development model. The Head of Dinpora, Arief Nanang Sugianto, revealed that they plan to hold the Subdistrict Sports Week (Porcam) in 2027. This step is taken to ensure that the athlete regeneration process runs progressively and evenly, from the village level to the regency level.
