State Islamic University (UIN) Palangka Raya continues to demonstrate its commitment to expanding the horizons of higher education by submitting a proposal to establish the Faculty of Science and Technology (Saintek). This strategic step was marked by the submission of official documents to the Directorate General of Islamic Education of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia.
The document submission process was led directly by the Rector of UIN Palangka Raya, Prof. Dr. H. Ahmad Dakhoir, M.H.I., along with the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Institutional Development, Dr. Muhammad Nasir, M.Pd. The campus delegation was welcomed by the Director General of Islamic Education of Kemenag RI, Prof. Dr. H. Amien Suyitno, M.Ag., accompanied by the Head of the Organization and Administration Bureau of the Secretariat General of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Dr. Nur Arifin.
The establishment of this new faculty is part of the university's efforts to improve the quality of more integrative education services. Through the presence of the Faculty of Saintek, UIN Palangka Raya aims to produce human resources who are not only technically competent in the fields of science and technology but also possess a strong spiritual foundation.
This initiative is expected to be a catalyst for academic development in the region, while also addressing the future need for experts aligned with Islamic values. Currently, the university is awaiting the verification process and follow-up from the relevant ministry.
