Ahead of the launch predicted to take place this coming September, rumors regarding the specs of the iPhone 18 Pro Max have once again captured public attention. Apple's flagship device is widely reported to bring a significant upgrade in the power department, with a battery capacity reaching around 5,500 mAh.
This news first surfaced through a post by well-known tech leaker, Digital Chat Station, on the Weibo platform. If the leak is accurate, the iPhone 18 Pro Max will make history as the iPhone with the largest battery capacity ever produced by Apple. However, this surge in capacity is predicted to have consequences for the device's physical design, with an estimated weight of 240 grams and a body thickness of around 9 millimeters.
Certification documents in China also point to a similar direction, where the eSIM variant of the iPhone 18 Pro Max is suspected to feature a 5,567 mAh battery, while the model with a physical SIM card slot is estimated to have a capacity of 5,391 mAh. This increase in battery volume is the main reason Apple has to adjust the dimensions of the phone's body so that the device can still accommodate the larger internal components.
In addition to the battery sector, Apple is rumored to incorporate the A20 Pro chipset, designed with a 2-nanometer fabrication process. The use of a more efficient chipset architecture, combined with a larger power capacity, is expected to provide users with a significantly longer battery life. Furthermore, rumors regarding camera technology upgrades with a variable aperture as well as refinements to the Dynamic Island design continue to emerge.
Although leaks regarding these specifications continue to flow, Apple has not yet issued any official statement regarding the details of the device.
