The Patrol Unit (Sat Samapta) of Badung Police has stepped up preventive measures to maintain public security and order (kamtibmas) in the Canggu tourism area. Given the high volume of nightlife activities lasting until the early hours of the morning, police are intensifying the "Blue Light Patrol" operation to suppress potential criminal acts.
The patrol, conducted on Friday (3/7/2026) in the early hours, targeted vulnerable points along the route from Canggu to Batu Bolong Beach. The primary focus of this operation includes preventing street crime, thuggery, illegal street racing, and various forms of theft (burglary, robbery, and vehicle theft) that could potentially disrupt the comfort of tourists and local residents.
During the patrol, officers visited nightlife venues, including Old Man's Canggu, to engage in interactive dialogue with internal security teams. The police emphasized the importance of strict supervision over visitor movements and encouraged proactive collaboration so venue management can report any suspicious activity immediately.
Head of Samapta Unit at Badung Police, AKP Made Mangku Bunciana, stated that this dialogic patrol is part of the implementation of the Precision Quick Wins program. According to him, synergy between law enforcement officers and venue security personnel is key to creating a conducive environment in busy tourist hubs.
By the time the patrol concluded, the situation in the Canggu area was reported to be safe and under control. Badung Police hope that the routine presence of police personnel on the ground will provide peace of mind to the public and narrow the scope for lawbreakers in the Badung jurisdiction.
