The General Chairman of the Golkar Party, Bahlil Lahadalia, emphasized that the Golkar Party is fully committed to being an inclusive political organization for all levels of society. According to Bahlil, the issues of emancipation and gender equality are not just discourse but have long been implemented through concrete policies within the party.
This concrete step is proven by the appointment of Sari Yuliati as Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR RI). Bahlil considers this decision as proof that Golkar provides ample space for female cadres to occupy strategic positions at the peak of state institution leadership, exceeding the 30 percent representation quota standard in parliament.
The appointment of Sari Yuliati itself was made in the context of leadership succession for the DPR leadership seat. This position was previously held by Adies Kadir, who is now taking on a new role as a Constitutional Court judge. Bahlil ensured that Adies has officially relinquished his party membership to guarantee the independence of the judiciary.
On the other hand, the Deputy General Chairman of PP AMPG, Sandi Rahmat Mandela, praised this move as a testament to the success of the meritocratic cadre system implemented by Golkar. He assessed that Sari Yuliati, who has a technocratic educational background as a civil engineer, is capable of bringing a new perspective based on data and precision to legislative functions.
Furthermore, Sandi referred to Sari as a role model for the younger generation in Golkar. Sari's track record of climbing the ranks from the bottom through various party wing organizations to becoming the General Treasurer is seen as proof that solid leadership is born from a long process of dedication, not shortcuts.
