The Regional Board (PW) of South Sulawesi Muhammadiyah Youth recently held a discussion forum titled 'Ngaji Politik' in Makassar, Sunday (26/4/2026). This activity was designed as a platform for cadres to dissect national political realities as well as increasingly complex global geopolitical dynamics.
The Secretary of the Regional Board of South Sulawesi Muhammadiyah Youth, Ahmad, emphasized that this forum positions cadres not merely as listeners, but as intellectual actors. He stressed the importance of changing the political paradigm, which was originally viewed as a struggle for power, into an instrument of service to safeguard public policies that favor the welfare of the people.
In his view, the future challenges of the nation are not limited to domestic issues. Geopolitical tensions, economic embargoes, and global technological competition demand the readiness of highly capable human resources. Therefore, he encouraged Muhammadiyah Youth and the Muhammadiyah Student Association (IMM) to strengthen their capacity in accordance with their respective movement bases.
Ahmad also highlighted the danger of information framing on social media, which often distorts public understanding of crucial issues. He advised cadres to remain critical and not be easily dragged into the flow of non-objective narratives. For him, the ability to read social reality comprehensively is the primary asset for engaging in healthy politics.
As a strategic step, this forum is planned to become a routine agenda to strengthen the network and economic independence of the cadres, including the development of the MSME sector. Through Ngaji Politik, South Sulawesi Muhammadiyah Youth is committed to continuously generating solution-oriented ideas for the future progress of the nation.
