The Muhammadiyah Business Union (SUMU) through the SUMU Catalyst initiative recently held a strategic webinar discussing the significant potential of the precious metals industry for business players in Indonesia. The discussion session, titled “Building a Precious Metal Business with SilverMu & EmasMu,” featured the President Director of PT Putra Surya Yogyakarta, Achmad Zani, as the speaker to dissect business opportunities in the gold and silver sector.
In his presentation, Achmad Zani introduced an integrated ecosystem model encompassing trading, manufacturing, and contract manufacturing (maklon) services. This innovation is designed to allow MSMEs to enter the precious metals business without having to bear the high cost of investing in production facility construction from the start.
There are five main business models offered through the EmasMu and SilverMu ecosystems, ranging from becoming an official dealer, bundling programs, rebranding cukim (refined gold) products, contract manufacturing (maklon) services, to establishing an independent precious metal company. The assistance provided covers legality aspects, brand development, human resource training, and adaptive marketing strategies in the digital era.
Achmad Zani emphasized that the spirit of inclusivity is the foundation of this program. According to him, the main objective of this collaboration is to open the widest possible access for the community to build efficient and sustainable precious metal businesses, regardless of the scale of the business being run.
This program is expected to serve as a bridge for local entrepreneurs to increase their business capacity. Through synergy between business actors and industry practitioners, SUMU is committed to continuing to create an innovative entrepreneurial ecosystem that is able to compete on the national stage.
