Italian automotive manufacturer Ducati is reinforcing its position in the off-road segment by introducing its latest model, the Desmo250 MX. This motorcycle arrives as a strategic step to expand their product portfolio in the 250cc class, while following in the footsteps of the Desmo450 MX model previously introduced.
The main attraction of the Desmo250 MX lies in its use of the Desmodromic valve system. This signature technology, long considered the identity of Ducati's sportbikes and racing motorcycles, is now embedded in a motocross unit, making it the first modern pioneer in its class to feature this unique valve mechanism.
To ensure robust performance on tough terrain, Ducati didn't rely solely on laboratory research. The bike underwent rigorous testing on the racetrack during the Italian Prestige MX2 Championship. As a result, its 249.7 cc single-cylinder engine delivers up to 44.5 hp at 12,500 rpm, with peak torque reaching 28.3 Nm at 8,800 rpm.
This innovative move underscores Ducati's serious commitment to challenging established players on the global motocross scene by bringing professional racing technology standards to a broader segment.
